Disciples4Water’s success depends on our sponsoring partners, as well as our church partners worldwide. Without the involvement of individual congregations, this unique outreach ministry could not survive.
The Disciples4Water team is made up of a unique partnership of churches throughout the United States and Water4 working together with the Community of Disciples of Christ in Congo (CDCC). Through this partnership, the water well drilling team established in Mbandaka, Equatorial Province, DRC in 2014 has drilled over 50 wells in the northwest corner of the DRC.
Additionally, we have provided funding for the construction of school buildings located at well sites, additional transportation means for church leadership and the drill team, and additional medical equipment for the hospital in Bolenge, Equatorial Province, DRC (also located at a water well site.
The six members of this team from First Christian Church of Edmond, partnered with a member from Global Ministries and two Water4 team members to train the inaugural drill team in the Democratic Republic Congo.
The First Christian Church of Edmond Oklahoma is the sponsoring host church for Disciples4Water, providing not only leadership team members, but also meeting and supply storage space.
